The story of Patrona begins with the love story of our founder's grandparents, Benny and Elfie. After returning from World War II, Benny found his grandparents’ ranch ransacked and his future uncertain, however, with a relentless work ethic, a single red Hereford, and two hearts full of dreams, Benny and Elfie married and built a renowned cattleman’s legacy.
Through dedication to Spanish vaquero and cowboy traditions, Benny and Elfie lived and taught what it means to “cowboy true.” They believed that a job well done is a mark of one's character, and that true wealth lies not in possessions, but in upholding integrity, hard work, and authenticity.
The heritage-based convictions taught by Benny and Elfie assisted Céline, Patrona’s founder, in developing a brand based on the values of the cowgirlin’ kind.
Céline, Patrona’s Founder, grew up on the back of a horse surrounded by her grandparents’ lush alfalfa fields and herds of slick Black Angus. Her idyllic upbringing instilled in her a deep love for western heritage and tradition.
Unfortunately, in recent years, Céline (like many who value the hallmarks of cowboy quality) has witnessed a troubling shift: the market has become flooded with inferior “western” leather goods which lack the durability and craftsmanship once synonymous with the American cowboy.
This cultural erosion, being fed by inferior western goods and leathers, inspired Céline to create Patrona.
Driven by a commitment to uphold the integrity of western craftsmanship, Patrona strives to offer pieces stitched only with superior workmanship. All works represented by the Patrona brand must align with our Cowgirl True values.
